Whether you’re craving a steaming bowl of Deluxe Chicken Pho Soup or the rich, aromatic Hu Tieu Tom Cua Egg Rice Noodle Shrimp Crab Soup, Pho Saigon Basil offers a sensory experience that captures the essence of Vietnamese cuisine.

The restaurant’s menu provides an enticing selection for every palate, from the bold and balanced broths of the rare steak and brisket pho to the fresh, garden-fresh Vegetable and Tofu Bun. One cannot miss their standout beverages, including the iconic Espresso Coffee with Condensed Milk (Cafe Sua Da) and a refreshing Bubble Tea that leaves guests coming back for more. For those with a sweet tooth, desserts like the Fried Banana topped with peanut and chocolate or the creamy New York Cheesecake create the perfect finishing touch.

Dining here is not just about the food—it’s the warm and inviting atmosphere that truly sets Pho Saigon Basil apart. Guests frequently praise the friendly and attentive service, making every visit feel personal and relaxed. The quiet ambiance is perfect for savoring the complex, soothing flavors of a well-crafted pho or enjoying a casual meal with friends and family. One reviewer even captured the addictive quality of the food, confessing to having found their "new pho addiction" here.

True to its Vietnamese roots, Pho Saigon Basil also showcases vibrant, herb-infused dishes like the Chicken Salad (Gỏi Gà) and Tofu Salad (Gỏi Đậu Hũ), which meld fresh basil, cilantro, daikon, and crispy onions with a delicate house special sauce—offering a refreshing and tangy complement to the richer noodle soups. The steamed rice plates—such as the Combination platter with grilled beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, and egg roll—bring hearty satisfaction for those who want variety on a single plate.

Customer experiences emphasize the impeccable seasoning, healthy preparation, and thoughtful presentation. One diner lovingly described the tofu noodle soup as "extremely well done," highlighting the generous portions and balanced flavors without excess grease. Others appreciated the bread’s fresh crunchiness in the Banh Mi and the perfect crispiness of the wings, praising the kitchen’s attention to authentic texture and taste.

For coffee lovers, the Espresso Coffee with Condensed Milk is a must-try—creamy, sweet, and bold—a classic Vietnamese preparation that elevates your dining experience. However, a friendly tip from patrons: if you prefer to tailor your pho with rare steak on the side or enjoy your coffee hot instead of iced, be sure to specify when ordering.

Pho Saigon Basil also listens to its guests’ needs, though some have noted a few gluten-free opportunities could be expanded—especially in dishes like the beef stew, which currently uses flour for thickening. Despite this, the restaurant remains a favorite locale for those seeking authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a relaxing, welcoming environment.

All in all, Pho Saigon Basil at Belmar is a hidden gem in Lakewood’s vibrant dining scene. It offers a harmonious blend of traditional Vietnamese flavors, attentive service, and a calming atmosphere—making it a perfect destination whether you’re a pho connoisseur or just beginning your culinary journey into Vietnamese food.

Nice & quiet, friendly service & great pho and Vietnamese coffee! However, one note: IF you like all the coffee paraphernalia (or hot instead of cold, lol!) and if you like to put your own rare steak into the soup to cook to Your taste...Order Everything "on the side"! I was sɔightly taken aback when it came out all thrown together already & an iced coffee all mixed already, lol! Still fun & very good, but I'll know next time!

My boyfriend stopped in here by chance when I wasn’t feeling well and we will be going again and again. I got the tofu noodle soup and it was extremely well done with a lot of food. This picture is what I stored as a leftover! Everything was well packaged, well seasoned, and it is healthy without grease etc. absolute new favorite

I swear I didn’t even like pho… until THIS place. The pork spring rolls, cream cheese crab wontons and pho were all crazy good. And the milk boba tea? Obsessed. We officially found our new pho addiction.

Twice we’ve been here and I’ve wanted to leave a review with pictures but we end up eating our food too fast to remember. So here’s a picture of our empty plate. The Banh Mi is delicious, the bread is so fresh and crispy. The avocado springs rolls are so fresh and crunchy and we love the peanut sauce. Also don’t sleep on the wings, they were sooo fresh and moist and crispy on the outside. Perfect crunch. I want to come back and get boba cause I’m sure that’s also fantastic. Also the service is quick and the price points are super competitive for quality.

The rare steak and brisket pho and veggie pho were delicious. The broths were very balanced and clean tasting. I did not rate 5 stars due to the many missed opportunities for gluten free options. I was so excited to try their beef stew, but I was told it is not gluten free due to them using flour to thicken it. WHY?! They can use cornstarch, arrowroot powder, potato starch, tapioca starch, rice flour, or a gluten free flour to thicken instead!!! AND they put hoisin in their peanut sauce making it not gluten free…. the sauce would be just as flavorful without the hoisin. AND the marinade in the meats contain soy sauce…they can simply use tamari instead. The menu says their tofu has gluten. I have no idea why their tofu would have gluten. I really hope they read this review and make changes to appeal to those who are gluten intolerant considering it would give them much more business.

My family absolutely loves the Pho and beef spring rolls. We try to eat here every Sunday. Their beef Bánh mi sandwich is great too. Highly recommend.
